From one bay to another, growth most definitely lies outside our comfort zone

hi, i'm mehak garg

[meh-heck]

Born and brought up in Bombay, India. Currently in San Francisco, California. I'm a family person, a friend's friend, and a girls' girl. If I could sum up most of my personality :

Being an elder sister taught me patience, empathy, and a kind of love I could’ve only imagined otherwise.

Yoga taught me to not give up easily, and that with consistency, you can achieve anything.

Music gigs are my happy place. They confirm how an experience well designed can help you truly get lost in the moment (in a good way, ofcourse).

Making beverages taught me that ingredients on opposite ends of the color wheel often go great together. (Ever wondered why blueberry lemon cheesecake hits so right? That’s why).

design manifesto

My journey as a designer has always involved advocating for design at every step, from choosing it as a career path, to justifying its value to clients, to championing it across teams within a company. This experience made me deeply passionate about design advocacy. And that, in turn, made me even more committed to ensuring that my designs help improve something or solve a problem. I want my work to stand as testament to the value good design brings.

My design mantra is simple: “Good design is honest.” Dieter Rams’ words not only reflect my approach to design, but also shape my belief that design should respect both its users and the discipline itself.
